Illinois Stewardship Alliance

We’re excited to welcome back one of our favorite groups back — Illinois Stewardship Alliance — happening Sunday, October 12th at Indian Creek Farmstead in Petersburg. This years — Harvest Celebration — brings a unique twist with a 100-mile local food challenge, where every ingredient is sourced from within 100 miles of the farm. Chef Joe Standley of Proud Richard’s will prepare a farm-to-table meal that highlights the best of Illinois’ fall harvest. Led by the Illinois Stewardship Alliance, this event supports their mission to build a more just and regenerative food system in our state. Please note: this is a private, ticketed event and tickets are available for purchase now. Don’t miss this special evening of food, community, and celebration.

The Illinois Stewardship Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a more just, regenerative, and locally rooted food and farm system in Illinois. Through policy advocacy, community organizing, and education, the Alliance empowers farmers and eaters to take collective action for sustainable agriculture, soil health, and food access.

OCTOBER 19, 2025

We’re proud to once again host our National First Responders Day celebration, a heartfelt event honoring the brave men and women who serve our communities. We are especially honored to welcome back St. John’s Life Flight for their 4th visit to the farm—a thrilling and inspiring highlight of the day! The helicopter landing will take place in the grassy area of the parking lot, with Menard County Rescue overseeing safety and coordination. Additional county rescue units will also be on-site, showcasing equipment and offering hands-on experiences for all ages. Be sure to arrive early so you don’t miss the landing!

As a token of our appreciation, all first responders in uniform will receive a free lunch in honor of your dedication and service to our communities. It’s a day of gratitude, excitement, and connection—join us in celebrating the real-life heroes who keep us safe every day.

National 1st Responders Day

Indian Creek Farmstead LLC provides a relaxing, educational, and entertaining experience in a real farm setting. Few children experience life on the farm. Here, they'll have an opportunity to see and pet the animals, see crops in the field, and learn about the foods they eat every day. We developed our facility and the grounds to provide a safe and fascinating hands-on environment for experiencing farm life and the important role of agriculture in the lives of everyone.
